My Chiropractic Story

I didn’t find chiropractic because I was in pain.

In fact, when I first walked into a chiropractic office as a young professional just out of college, my spine felt “fine.” I was active, busy, and doing all the things you’re told mean you’re healthy.

But behind the scenes, my body was struggling.

For years, I battled severe digestive issues — chronic heartburn, GERD, and IBS. I had been taking over-the-counter Prilosec since high school, believing it was the only way to function. I accepted digestive discomfort as normal and assumed it was something I’d just have to manage long-term.

That was my first introduction to the nervous system’s role in digestion, healing, and overall function. Through chiropractic care, I learned how spinal misalignments and nervous system stress can disrupt communication between the brain and the gut. Using the Merrick Chart, my chiropractor explained how gentle adjustments could help restore proper nervous system function and allow my body to do what it was designed to do — heal.

Through consistent chiropractic care, alongside support from a naturopath, I was able to come off the medication entirely, heal my gut, and experience weight loss without dieting or restriction. Not because I “tried harder,” but because my body finally had the capacity to regulate itself.

And the most surprising part?

I never had back pain.

That experience completely reshaped how I viewed health — and ultimately led me to chiropractic. I became passionate about helping people understand that chiropractic care isn’t just about pain relief; it’s about restoring function, adaptability, and resilience through the nervous system.

I’ve practiced family chiropractic my entire career, but motherhood transformed my purpose even further. Experiencing pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood firsthand — along with the challenges that so many women silently endure — ignited a deeper calling to serve mothers and babies.

Today, I specialize in preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and pediatric chiropractic care. I feel deeply honored to support women throughout pregnancy, to serve families during labor, and to be invited into one of the most vulnerable and powerful seasons of life. I love being an “auntie” to so many babies and watching families thrive as their nervous systems are supported from the very beginning.

Chiropractic changed my life — not by treating symptoms, but by helping my body remember how to heal.

And now, it’s my privilege to help others do the same.

At the time, my boyfriend (now Dr. Kevin) was under chiropractic care and encouraged me to get checked as well — not for pain, but for overall health. During my new patient exam, X-rays revealed something unexpected: pills sitting undigested in my lower gastrointestinal tract.

When my chiropractor asked if I took supplements, I explained that the only thing I took was Prilosec. That moment changed everything.

Because I had been suppressing stomach acid for so long, my body had stopped producing enough acid to properly digest my food — or even the medication itself. My body wasn’t healing. It wasn’t adapting. It was surviving.
